Izzy Bramhall claims Over 55 World Racketlon title
Notts tennis player Izzy Bramhall who has previously won the World ITF Seniors team title with GB, as well as 14 other ITF Senior World individual medals has just become the Over 55 World Racketlon (Table tennis, squash, badminton and tennis) champion. Izzy also won team gold for the GB 45 team (playing as the number 1 lady with 4 men) and she also finished an impressive top 10 placing in the World Open Championship event, competing against players who were 35 years younger than herself!
These recent achievements, where Izzy was unbeaten in all her tennis matches comes less than 2 years after total knee replacement surgery - and adds to the World Championship Open Doubles title she won last year.
Izzy started her tennis career off in Notts at a county trial at the age of 9 - she said " I was not the most coordinated or athletic of players when I was young, but determination, smartness on court, combined with the desire to keep improving just shows what can be achieved whatever your age, and whatever adversity you face in life".
